HHH Metrodome

Today we woke up and went to a Twins/Yankees game. The HHH Metrodome has been described to me as the crappiest ballpark in America, the "big plastic bag," and the worst place to see a baseball game...and I couldn't wait to get there. I have been to a few ballparks including old Yankee Stadium, Shea Stadium, Citi Field, Dodger Stadium in LA, and Fenway Park and I have to say that this stadium was the WORST. The sightlines were for fooball and most seats in the OF faced the other side of the stadium, not home plate. The one hallway in the entire place was narrow and there was nowhere to stand in line for food and the entire stadium had this eerie, eye-of-the-storm kind of vibe to it. Almost like the fans were waiting for something...I LOVED IT. Max and I split a Chicago Dog with the works and a beer-soaked-brat and Erin even found a Gardenburger with the WORKS! The ballgame was great, with 3 batters getting walked with the bases loaded and the Yankees using 6 pitchers including the one and only Mariano Rivera for the save.

I learned 2 things on my trip to the HHH Metrodome for the first and last (Target Field!!!!) time...
1: Twinkies fans LOVE Joe Mauer (so does Max)
and
2: They don't love him enough to stay at the game when the Twinkies were down 2 runs with a man on first in the bottom of the ninth inning. Did I mention there was only one out and Mauer was AT THE PLATE!!!!!!!!!!

For those that care: Boston Sucks!

  1. At least the Yankees won even if the stadium sucked! Having fun with Wood & Bonnie. Speak to you all soon.
