San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park

As a belated birthday promise to Max, we took a trip yesterday to the Wild Animal Park. Here, exotic animals from Asia and Africa and all over the world roam free and live happy lives in the California sun.

I love it when flamingos ruffle their feathers. They're pretty birds, but their necks are so weird- like snakes attached to these fluffy bodies, with bamboo reeds for legs.

All the elephants looked so happy! Maybe it was just because it was feeding time. Maybe they're putting something in the water...




A young bald eagle. When he turns 4 months old, he'll be bald, just like his friend:



A nesting owl! They're out during the day and they nest at night in holes that other animals make and abandon. They're pretty hootin' cute.

Ahh, the California Condor. I'd like to call him Count Condor. Muahahaha.

Hmm I can't recall what kind of animal this is. Someone will fill in the info later i'm sure.

Oooh this one is a prairie dog. Look at that cute poochy dog butt in the background. They hop like bunnies!

This parrot mimicked some people saying "hi", "achoo", and barking like a dog. Then, when we all laughed, it mimicked our laughter! What a hoot.

My favorite bird. I can't remember what it's called, but It's got these awesome polka-dotted feathers, and a bright blue band around it's neck, and a fuzzy black head.
