Hula Time!

Erin's grandma, Christinia, (AKA G ma) is a pretty amazing lady. She's the most spry 91-year-old EVER! She paints and drives, and teaches hula classes at the Carlsbad senior center. Dude, I can't even drive! Anyway, even though I'm a few years shy of being a 50+ citizen, she used her athourity to allow me to attend a beginners hula class.
It was such a good time!
I learned the basic steps, and followed along as well as I could to the numbers that the ladies were rehearsing. It's such a graceful dance. Alot of the movements are very similar to spanish dancing because of the isolation of the hips. The precision and the gentleness of the movements reminds me of traditional Japanese dance.
I think i'm gonna join a class when I get back to NY! Anyone care to join me?

Look at all these lovely ladies

Aloha for now.
